Notice of Public Hearing for Proposed Ordinance No. 871
NOTICE is hereby given that the Borough Council of the Borough of Myerstown, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania will conduct a public hearing to receive questions and comments on proposed Ordinance No. 871 on September 12, 2023 at 6:45 p.m. at the Myerstown Community Center situate at 101 South Railroad Street, Myerstown, Myerstown Borough, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
Proposed Ordinance 871 contains provisions establishing regulations, licensing, and inspection requirements for residential rental properties in Myerstown Borough; defining certain terms; requiring owners to apply for residential rental licenses; setting forth certain exemptions to the licensing requirements; establishing a licensing application procedure, application fee, and renewal procedure; providing for inspections; setting forth provisions for the revocation of licenses; allowing for the designation of an owner’s agent; requiring notice to the Borough if a residential rental unit is created or eliminated; restricting the transfer of residential rental licenses; setting forth responsibilities of owners and their agents; setting forth responsibilities of tenants and occupants; providing for enforcement of the Ordinance; preserving the enforceability of all other applicable building, zoning, and property maintenance ordinances and regulations; providing for administrative remedies; addressing conflict of laws; specifying that licensing is not a warranty of the Borough; providing for an appeals procedure; setting forth violations and penalties; providing severability and repealer clauses; and establishing an effective date. After receiving questions and comments, the Borough Council intends to vote on Ordinance 871 following the conclusion of the public hearing during its regularly-scheduled public meeting on September 12, 2023.

Railroad Street, Myerstown, Pennsylvania on any Monday through Friday, except legal holidays, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Copies of the Ordinance may be purchased by paying the copying costs thereof.
