Entry Level Laborer - Wastewater Treatment Facility
Myerstown Borough is currently accepting applications for an entry-level laborer to join our Wastewater Operations team. This position consists of “hands-on” general labor work with the opportunity to advance to become a Certified Wastewater Operator. Training is available and encouraged. The successful candidate must be physically able to perform various labor tasks assisting the Operations staff in a variety of ways, including plant, building and grounds maintenance, collection system maintenance, sample collection, emergency response, and general housekeeping.
This position is presently on a Monday through Friday work week until such a time the candidate successfully advances to an “Operator in Training” level of proficiency. The prospective candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid PA driver’s license, ability to lift and carry 60 pounds, and be subject to periodically working in adverse weather conditions. Any commercial or industrial maintenance experience is helpful.
