Summer Playground Program

Arts, Crafts, Fun, and Games for Children Pre-K through 5th Grade!!!


What is the Playground Program? 

Children can enjoy a couple hours of supervised summer activities in a fun and safe outdoor environment at our beautiful park!   Scheduled activities include frisbee, kickball, sidewalk chalk, capture the flag, dodgeball, arts and crafts, wiffle ball, and more!


Pre-K through 5th Grade 


The Playground Program will take place at the Myerstown Recreation Area, outside the Myerstown Community Pool at 1 West Center Ave.  Registration will be at the picnic tables outside the pool.

Dates and Times

The Playground Program will take place on TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, and THURSDAYS from July 6th through August 9th.   There will be two sessions each day.  The first is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and the second is from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Registration Information

There is no pre-registratoin required.  Parents bring their kids to the check-in table the day of the activity.  All parents must fill out and sign a consent waiver stating that the Borough is not liable for any injury that may occur while participating in the program.  You can download the waiver at the following link:

A $10 donation to offset the costs of the Playground Program is appreciated, but not required.


Volunteer Playground Program Leaders will be leading the activities.   Volunteers must have volunteer criminal background checks.

How Can I Help?

The Playground Program is operated and funded primarily through donations and volunteers, with some help from the Borough.  Anyone interested in volunteering should contact the Borough Office.  Anyone able and willing to donate funds or supplies to the program should contact the Borough Office.  Thank you!

Volunteer Requirements:
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must have background clearances if over 18 (we can help get free background clearances)
  • Must enjoy working with kids!
  • Able to volunteer Tuesdays - Thursdays from 9-12 or 1-3
