Improvements to North Locust St, West Washington Ave, and Madison Alley to Begin 6/25

On Thursday, June 25, 2020, road improvement projects will begin on North Locust Street, West Washington Avenue, and Madison Alley.

The project will consist of surface treatments in the following areas:
  • North Locust St from Main Ave to Route 422
  • West Washington Ave from North Locust St to the Borough boundary
  • Madison Alley from South College St to North Goodwill St
A sealcoat will be applied to the roadway.  In some areas, the sealcoat may appear brown in color once it is applied.  As traffic passes over the sealcoat, it will slowly fade to a normal black color.  This color transition will happen over the course of a few weeks.

These improvements were planned as a part of the Borough's 5-year Road Improvement Plan.  Other projects scheduled for completion in 2020 include:
  • Repair and Repaving of North Railroad St from Route 422 to Washington Ave
  • Repair and Repaving of West Main Ave from North College St to Railroad St
