Building Codes
In July of 2004, Myerstown Borough adopted and incorporated by reference the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (UCC). The Pennsylvania UCC controls all matters concerning the construction, alteration, addition, repair, removal, demolition, location, occupancy, and maintenance of all buildings and structures in the Borough. Information on the Pennsylvania UCC can be found at the Department of Labor & Industry’s website.
Building Permits
To ensure all buildings in Myerstown Borough are in compliance with the Pennsylvania UCC, building permits are required for all major building and property renovations. Building Code Permit Applications can be obtained at the Borough Offices or at the link below. Permit Applications can be submitted either at Borough Offices or at the offices of the Borough's Building Code Official.

It is the joint responsibility of the property owner and the contractor to obtain the required building code permit before performing any work.
