Rules & Information

Entry Fee: $20.00 entry fee is non-refundable and due by September 1st, 2018 to the Myerstown Borough Office. All Checks should be made payable to Myerstown Borough, Memo: Chili Cook-Off.

Chili Name:  Please give your chili a name that describes it so those eating the chili will have some idea of what to expect.  Example: Texas Hot, XXX, Chili for Sissies, etc.

Set Up:  Chili station setup is from 7:00am to 9:00am.  You will be allowed to drive a vehicle in to unload your supplies, but vehicles must be moved.  You will be assigned a 10' x 10' area.  Bring your own cooking tools, tables, tents, stove, etc.  You will need to bring everything needed to serve your masterpiece including chips/cheese/crackers.  Sample cups, spoons and napkins will be provided.  Chili tasters will purchase wristbands for chili samples.  Please serve to only those wearing wristbands.

Display:  Poster/banner/sign/decorations are welcome.   Decorate your station and have fun!!! 

Judging: There are two chili judging categories: Judge's Choice and People's Choice.  At 1:30pm teams will provide a chili sample for judging for the Judges Choice category.  Chili judging by the public begins at 2:00pm  and continues through 5:30pm, or until chili is gone.  The winner of the Peoples Choice category will be determined by the chili entry with the highest number of votes.  Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category.

Awards:  Awards will be presented at 6:00pm.
